Who We Are
Meet IAFF Local 1304, the Kitimat Firefighters Association, and the firefighter-paramedics who serve our community.
We are the Kitimat Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 1304. Our members are professional firefighter-paramedics who serve the people of Kitimat.
Service that reaches beyond the station
Protecting lives and property is at the centre of our work. Our members bring firefighting, paramedic care and rescue skills together in their service to the community.
That commitment continues through fire prevention education, public safety initiatives and charitable work. We want Kitimat to remain a safe place to live, work and raise a family.
A tradition of service
Local 1304 has grown alongside Kitimat. Equipment, training and community needs have changed over time, while our commitment to the people we serve has continued.
Part of our community
Our members take part in community events, school fire prevention programmes and local fundraising. The Guns & Hoses charity hockey game and Ladder of Hope are part of that connection with Kitimat.
Supporting the people who serve
The Association advocates for firefighter safety, fair working conditions and the resources our members need to do their work. We work with the District of Kitimat and other decision-makers on issues that affect our members and the service they provide.
